"There needs to be understanding that anger never helps to solve a problem. It destroys our peace of mind and blinds our ability to think clearly. Anger and attachment are emotions that distort our view of reality”
Need an anger management class, well you've got this...
Well said, Dalai Lama.
The spirit of anger is nonetheless drastic and unchangeable. Therefore why should we be angry? Anger is the essence of immorality and basically being overemotional. We as humans often confuse anger as a power of authority, but yet again we are wrong. Take a look at how you are when in peace and then how you are when angry. What is the difference? YOU. Because you tend to become angry by choice, never by circumstances. Even if someone is irritating you, the best way to conquer the problem is by being at peace. The person will be vexed out by your multitude of peace, what an awesome trick! We all have lives that fly by quickly, so it is best to leave your anger and spend time being peaceful. Someone who is blinded is also smothered in anger, and cannot sense what is right and what is wrong. That’s what Dalai Lama wants to imply when he says that “anger distorts our view of reality.” From that we can also say that maybe anger is the reason for bad karma as well?
